5 months and 3 weeks have come to a close and a new cycle is about to begin, yes that’s right – eclipse season.
On Wednesday, May 26th, the Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius will occur on a day known as World Invocation Day in Esoteric Astrology. Known to be the Full Moon of the Christos energy, this is a special day marked on the calendar of every Esoteric Astrologer worldwide.
The Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius will be challenging us to heal the internal rifts, traumas and damage that prevent us from connecting to others and remember their humanity. Here are the 3 keys that we’ll be exploring:
1) Sagittarius and the Great Central Sun – remembering the humanity of others
2) Gemini and the connection to the Christos and heart energies
3) Using the energies of Gemini and Sagittarius to bring ourselves into alignment with the source of life
Before we begin on those themes, let’s take a look at the astronomical details of the Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius.

Even though this is a total lunar eclipse, it will not be completely visible to most of the world as the moon eclipses over the Pacific Ocean. North America will be able to view the Penumbra (shadow) and my friends in Japan will be able to do the same. To my dear friends in the UK and Europe, unfortunately you won’t be able to watch this event, but it doesn’t mean that you won’t feel the energy!

Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius: Connecting to the Great Central Sun
You may have read that heading above and have no idea what the “Great Central Sun” is. But if you have taken Galactic Activation with the Modern Mystery School, you may have a better idea. Here’s a little background courtesy of Alice Bailey and her teachings on Esoteric Astrology:
As spiritual beings, we all come from one source and we call that source home. In Mystery School teachings, that home is named the Great Central Sun. Alice Bailey has written much about our source and home. Its location is towards the direction of the Sagittarius constellation and the Great Central Sun is the centre of our universe. This direction is no coincidence. Sagittarius is the sign of the disciple in esoteric astrology. The sign of faith and the vision of humanity. Ruled by the benevolent Jupiter, Sagittarius embodies the good will and wisdom that are so necessary to bring about peace.
In the Mystery School teachings, we are headed towards a time called Shamballah – the fulfillment of world peace and human enlightenment. All of the heavenly forces and beings have been working alongside of us for thousands of years to bring about this possibility. It’s a very humbling thought – to think that the heavens would care so much about us that they would labour for so very long to create a world in which all beings can thrive. The blueprints for Shamballah and all the possibilities it presents for us are said to be located on the Great Central Sun.
That includes the blueprints that exist in larger societal forces as well as each of our own individual blueprints – yes, we all have a part to play.
During the Sagittarius Full Moon (even when it is a total lunar eclipse), the Sun, Moon, and Earth are all aligned with the Great Central Sun, creating an even stronger connection to our spiritual home and a greater ability to connect to your part of “The Plan”. So don’t feel surprised if you find yourself thinking or feeling along a few key prompts:
· Craving for peace and unity in relationships
· Wanting to know your purpose and role in a deeper way
· Craving that comes from the heart to serve, heal, and assist others

Gemini and the Christos Energies:
I just spoke about Sagittarius as the sign of the disciple and pathway back to the Great Central Sun. In Esoteric Astrology, whenever we speak of one sign, we must speak of its polar opposite too. Gemini is the polar pairing to Sagittarius and in Esoteric Astrology, it is the last sign to come into the astrological wheel and symbolizes the human experience. It symbolizes all the thoughts, emotions, and relationships that permeate our time upon the physical plane. These aren’t always the greatest experience so you may feel a bit of surprise when I tell you that the energy of Gemini manifests exclusively through the heart chakra. Gemini is a sign of love (as is hinted in the Tarot by its card, The Lovers).
You may remember that date I mentioned on every Esoteric Astrologer’s calendar – World Invocation Day. World Invocation day happens every year during the full moon of Gemini season. In 2021, that happens May 26th and coincides with a lunar eclipse (since lunar eclipses can only happen on a full moon).
The Sagittarius Full Moon is said to be the day where the Christ returns to the Earth. As we are in alignment with the Great Central Sun, our home, it is a time where the love for humanity can swell and it is for that purpose that the Christ (or other figures such as the Lord Maitreya or Boddhisatva) return to the Earth – to awaken the hearts of humanity and restore the compassion we should have for one another.
Many people gather together during World Invocation Day (in pre-COVID times) to read a prayer called the Great Invocation together. This prayer is meant to call in the Will, Love, and Intelligence that are needed to unite humanity and create a peaceful world in which we can all coexist and thrive. I’ve shared the Great Invocation in the section below for you to read. It is powerful and heartfelt!
As the Christ (or Christos energies) return to the earth, the heart chakra is awakened and you may notice that at this time. Don’t be surprised if you notice:
· The desire to heal your heart and old relationship wounding
· Wanting to settle old conflicts and differences (within yourself or from others)
· The craving for peace and deeper relationships
· The remembrance that others (like yourself) have their own experiences, emotions, traumas, loves, and most importantly, a heart
If you’re feeling that call to be the embodiment of peace, that’s great! Just don’t forget that the Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius opens up the opportunities to not only embody, but to heal blockages that can prevent you from realizing that goal. I mention this because healing blockages isn’t always pleasant, but the deeper sense of fulfillment and love on the other side is totally worth it!
How to use the energies of Gemini and Sagittarius to align with the Great Central Sun:
Every Zodiac sign has domain over different areas of the body. It’s no coincidence that part of Gemini’s domain is the hands. Since Gemini rules over the human experience, the hands are such an important part of what makes us human, aren’t they? Specifically, the hands symbolize 2 key aspects that are so needed right now amongst humanity and the world.
What is that we do with our hands that is so symbolic?
1) We greet each other by hand – symbolizing unity amongst us.
2) We build, create, help – symbolizing the service we render unto each other.
When we align with vision for peace amongst humanity that is delivered to us through the rays of Sagittarius, our hands can then become beneficent forces, rather than harmful and destructive. Here is a little ceremony that you can do to help align yourself with the Great Central Sun, the Christos energy, and your purpose/role in the Great Work (restoring peace on Earth).
Here is a beautiful prayer called The Great Invocation that was channeled from Djwal Khul (a Tibetan Initiate) by Alice Bailey. Before or after the eclipse would be the appropriate time to recite this prayer, speaking from the heart. Before reading you may wish to:
1) Have an offering of roses, frankincense, or myrrh on your altar
2) Anoint your hands/bathe in Bergamot and/or Rose oils (Gemini)
3) Anoint your heart/bathe in Neroli and/or Lavender oils (Sagittarius)
The Great Invocation
From the point of Light within the Mind of God Let light stream forth into the minds of men. Let Light descend on Earth.
From the point of Love within the Heart of God Let love stream forth into the hearts of men. May Christ* return to Earth.
From the centre where the Will of God is known Let purpose guide the little wills of men – The purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the centre which we call the race of men Let the Plan of Love and Light work out And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
Recite this prayer from the heart as many times as you feel called to do so. It can be said at any time of the year as well but holds a special connection and power on World Invocation Day.
Since the connection to the Great Central Sun is also so strong at this time, you may want to take time to reflection on your purpose/direction, next steps and goals – especially if you’ve been feeling lost or confused lately.

It’s time to open the gateways of pain, judgement, and trauma within the heart! The Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius is urging all of us to remember that as we feel, as we love, as we have our insecurities, doubts, fears – so do others! It is only through remembering and honouring that fact that other beings have sentience as we do and truly respecting that that we can come to peace with all things around us.
With this Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius, we have the chance to connect to the energies of the Christ and to the Great Central Sun for renewed compassion (for self and others) and to regain clarity of purpose. And most importantly, honour your heart! Although it is an Eclipse (and eclipses do reveal wounding), it is also a great time of healing and improving relationships. Find beauty in the connections that you have and take joy in the new connections that are to come!
